A former University of Tennessee Foundation chief accused of ordering child pornography to keep himself from molesting children is trying to persuade a federal magistrate judge to toss out his confession.

Bruce O. Downsbrough this week asked U.S. Magistrate Judge Clifford Shirley to toss out statements he made to U.S. Postal Service Agent John Bowden and Knoxville Police Department Investigator Tom Evans after the pair executed a search warrant at his home last November.

Downsbrough, 60, was indicted in May on three charges of receiving child pornography through the mail and over the Internet and one count of possessing more than 20,000 images and several videotapes of child porn. The UT Foundation fired Downsbrough a day after his arrest at his foundation office.
