Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke today announced a change in the city's take-home car policy for police officers.

The new policy states that police officers will pay the mileage from the city limits to their homes outside the city limits.

The old policy required officers to pay mileage to and from work from their homes outside the city limits.

In addition, Berke announced he will form a task force to study the police and fire pension fund. The task force is to have a report by the end of the year.
