Birmingham Barons beat Chattanooga Lookouts 7-0

Monday's recap: Birmingham starting pitcher Scott Snodgrass was two outs away from a no-hitter when Matt Wallach, who struck out in the third and sixth innings, singled to right field. Snodgrass was then taken out of the game and replaced by J.R. Ballinger, who retired the next two hitters as the Lookouts lost for the ninth time in 11 games to slip to 12-17. Marcus Semien homered to left field in the third inning to give the Barons a 1-0 lead, and Semien added a three-run homer to left in the fifth that made it 4-0.

Next game: Game one of a five-game series against Jackson at AT&T Field is tonight at 7:15.

Pitchers: Andres Santiago (3-8, 4.73) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts. The Generals had not named their starter as of Monday night.
