Question: Whatever happened to Jumoke Johnson Jr.?

Answer: Johnson, 19, is in the Hamilton County Jail on a $235,000 bond facing three counts of reselling drugs, one count of possessing drug paraphernalia, one count of possessing a firearm during the commission of a crime and one count of tampering with evidence.

Johnson was facing other criminal charges in 2012 when he was a student at Brainerd High School. Most of the charges were dismissed, and Johnson graduated.

He attended Miles College in Alabama for a semester after a benefactor read a Chattanooga Times Free Press story about him and offered to pay for four years of college.

Johnson was arrested once at Miles and has been arrested twice since returning to Chattanooga, court records show.

Johnson was found inside a Lylerly Street home July 17 along with a few other men. Police said they found 8.4 ounces of marijuana and 2.7 grams of crack cocaine, digital scales and a loaded Browning 9 mm. Another 30 grams of crack cocaine were found where Johnson was sitting in the back of a police car, according to the arrest report.

His charges were bound over to the Hamilton County grand jury on Friday.
