Suns pounce on Chattanooga Lookouts in 12-4 win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Suns jumped early and hard on the visiting Chattanooga Lookouts in Southern League baseball Monday night. The Suns won 12-4.

Chattanooga starting pitcher Duke von Schamann gave up 11 hits and eight runs before failing to make it through four innings.

Jacksonville took a 3-0 lead in the second inning on J.T. Realmuto's home run to left field and Isaac Galloway's two-run homer to left. The Suns added a run in the third inning and scored five in the fourth, when Zack Cox had an RBI double, Realmuto an RBI single and Daniel Pertusati a two-run homer to left.

The Lookouts (14-22 second half) were stuck on one hit, a Jeremy Moore two-out single in the first inning, until Miguel Rojas singled in the eighth following three consecutive walks to bring in their first run.

Game three of the five-game series is tonight at 7:05. Chris Reed (3-8, 3.62 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts.
