March Adams hires marketer

March Adams & Associates has hired Jan Trousdale as the director of marketing and business development.

Trousdale brings a diverse background to March Adams, according to the company. She has a lot of experience in office management and client relations. She currently resides in Hixson.


Two join Hutton Construction

Hutton Construction has added Matt Kubic as an assistant estimator and Kim Powers as an administrative assistant to the construction team.

Kubic will be providing assistance to several estimators at Hutton.

Powers joined Hutton as a contract administrator and will be assisting with contracts, subcontract applications for payments and change orders.

"Matt is a very intelligent and a talented individual and I am confident he will thrive in Hutton's fast-paced environment," said Bob Elliott, Hutton vice president. "Kim's timing in starting with Hutton is perfect and we are so excited that her work experience, knowledge and positive attitude can be put to the task immediately."


McHugh receives employee award

Bob McHugh, of Chattanooga-based Heil Environmental, has received the Waste Equipment Technology Association's Employee of the Year Award for Sales and Marketing at a national awards ceremony held in New Orleans.

McHugh has spent 23 years in the waste and recycling industry, where he is currently key account business development manager at Heil Environmental, a division of Environmental Solutions Group.

WASTEC is the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit trade association representing technology and equipment manufacturers and distributors in the industry.

"Bob's achievements are important and noteworthy. He demonstrates that our nation's waste and recycling industry is a vibrant, innovative industry comprised of highly skilled employees. We salute him," said Sharon H. Kneiss, president and CEO of WASTEC.


Puckett wins EMS award

The Georgia Region III Emergency Medical Services has awarded Puckett EMS President Steve Puckett the Dennis Lockridge EMS Pioneer of the Year Award.

The award is given each year to recognize an individual in Georgia for unselfish contributions to the development and enhancement of Georgia's emergency medical services.

Puckett EMS provides 911 emergency and critical care ambulance services to citizens of Dade County, Ga.


TVA names 4 employees

Four local Tennessee Valley Authority employees have been recognized with Salute to Excellence Awards, TVA's highest internal honor recognizing outstanding employee performance and innovative leadership.

The annual awards are presented in several categories, including safety, power performance and reliability, implementation of cost-savings measures and inspiration to peers.

Murray Gunter, a specialist in air permits and compliance, received the Environmental Excellence Award for innovative changes to coal unit scrubbers that increased the units' ability to run for extended periods without compromising emissions control performance.

Mick Mastilovic, manager nuclear fuel supply, led TVA's involvement in a complex, multi-party agreement to convert leftover depleted uranium.

Louise Butts, who works at TVA's Ocoee hydro generation plant, received the Values Champion Award for coordinating the plant's Partners in Education efforts and Combined Federal Campaign participation, as well as donating her annual leave to others facing unforeseen family circumstances.

Clay Deloach received the Diversity Champion Award. As senior manager of energy delivery's operations applications group, Deloach has assembled one of the most diverse, cohesive and successful teams at TVA, consisting of more than 50 people from seven countries.


DeMars qualifies for President's Club

Gregory DeMars, senior loan officer for Cornerstone Home Lending, has qualified for Cornerstone's 2012 President's Club.

This group is composed of Cornerstone's premier residential lenders throughout the country who have met the highest in customer service standards and loan production volume. This is the second year in a row that DeMars has achieved President's Club honors with Cornerstone.

Cornerstone Home Lending is a full-service mortgage banker founded in 1988 in Houston.


Road builders tap locals for board

Some Chattanooga area business people have been named to the Tennessee Road Builders Association's new board of directors or as division directors.

Tony Boals, of Wright Brothers Construction Co. in Charleston, Tenn., president; Scott Thompson, Asphalt Division director, Talley Construction Co., Chattanooga; and David Denham, Bridge and Concrete Division director, Simpson Construction Co., Cleveland, Tenn.

"All industry professionals, this year's board members are well-equipped to help maintain Tennessee's status as one of the safest states in which to drive," said Kent Starwalt, executive vice president of TRBA.


Hixson company named retail star

Let Us Light Your World, of Hixson, has been named one of Home Accents Today's 50 Retail Stars for 2013 by editors of the trade magazine for the home accents industry.

The store, founded in 1978, is located at 5110 Hixson Pike and is owned by Steve and Becky Powell.
