Dominique HannahLee University is leaving the NAIA with sophomore outfielder Dominique Hannah from Nashville as the association's national player of the year in softball, and junior first baseman Ana Coscorrosa from Venezuela joined her from the Lady Flames on the NAIA All-America first team. Hannah, already the Southern States Athletic Conference player of the year, was third in the NAIA in hits (93), fourth in total bases (150), seventh in doubles (22) and 10th in batting average (.482) this season. She also compiled nine home runs, 30 walks, four triples and a team-high 63 runs. Coscorrosa hit .463 with eight homers, 15 doubles and two triples for Lee, which wound up 47-11 and reached the 10-team national championship tournament. Katie Cotta of national champion Concordia (Calif.) was the pitcher of the year.

• Chattanooga State is holding its 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame celebration at 6 p.m. on June 21 at the Walden Club downtown, and 1994-96 softball player Kim O'Kelley, 2000-01 basketball player Alicia Ransom Woolwine and 2006-07 baseball pitcher Drew Bowlin are this year's inductees. The college also is honoring two "community partners" -- the Chattanooga Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Lookouts owner Frank Burke -- with inaugural Distinguished Service Awards for their support through the years. • Ryan Chastain from Franklin, Tenn., won the 2013 Run Wild 5k from the Chattanooga Zoo on Saturday with a time of 16 minutes, 39 seconds, and the 25-year-old wasn't challenged. Matt Blackwood, 32, of Northport, Ala., was second in 19:26 in the race benefiting the zoo, and Brent Blalock, 21, was third in 20:25. Fourth through sixth places were close with Tyler Duncan finishing in 21:08, Joshua Simpkins in 21:13 and Caleb Simpkins in 21:24. Signal Mountain residents Katie Rich, 16, and Leah Gallant, 46, were the top female finishers and 11th and 12th overall in 24:04 and 24:36, and Shannon Cook was 13th, three seconds behind Gallant.
