1 dead, 2 hurt in Georgia crash

A 17-year-old was killed and two other teens hurt in a one-vehicle crash Saturday in LaFayette, Ga.

A Georgia State Patrol news release stated that Joshua Allen Jackson, 17, of LaFayette, was driving a 2007 Ford pickup north on Chamberlain Road when the truck left the road and hit a tree.

Jackson died, and two passengers were taken to Erlanger for treatment. Kaitlin Dawn Keith, 17, of Chickamauga, was airlifted, and Austin Levi Goodman, 16, of LaFayette, was taken by ground vehicle.

The crash was reported at 2:15 p.m. and the investigation continues, the GSP statement said.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of East 14th Street, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
