A CARTA bus/car crash Monday at 600 W. Main St. that led to eight people being sent to a hospital was caused by a northbound Acura on Carter Street that didn't stop at a stop sign before hitting the bus, the Chattanooga Police Department said in a news release.

In a report on the collision, the news release said the bus hit a tree and fence after being struck by the car.
