'Special probe needed on attack' and more letters to the editors

Special probe needed on attack

The letter in May 18 edition about Benghazi is following the leftist line. Obama crowed constantly about killing Bin Laden and putting Al Qaeda "on the run." According to him, that was the end of whatever he calls radical Islamist terrorism. After hearing in the late afternoon, Washington time, that the ambassador had said they were under attack, Obama was not heard from until the next day. Then he went to Las Vegas to politic.

There are a number of questions to be answered. Only a full-scale, Watergate-style special committee can find the answers. The independent review board the writer mentioned was appointed by Hillary Clinton and did not interview her. A subpoena by the committee could get what her review board missed. Gregory Hicks, in his testimony to Congress, said under oath that the few military in Tripoli, commanded by a special forces colonel, were ordered to "stand down" their rescue effort to Benghazi. What person gave that order? Had the truth not have been suppressed then, would it have influenced the election? Debatable. Would the truth now result in criminal or other action? There's only one way to know. The difference now is, four people died!

Amazon sure does sell everything

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside one of those giant Amazon warehouses? While working at both Chattanooga area warehouses, I noticed much more than just books and DVDs. Here begins my problem with this huge organization and encompasses issues I believe would also be of concern to the people of the genteel South.

Containers full of sex toys, very discreetly packaged without the usual commercial labeling. Fellow workers said, "Oh yes! We get those all the time. You'll see more!"

Hundreds more of these items in different sizes and shapes as well as books and DVDs for sex instruction and explicit gratification, sometimes stowed alongside Bibles or devotional books. The numbers involved make the roadside adult store look like a lemonade stand. It is ironic that these kinds of items are stored in such abundance right in the very heart of the Bible belt! No see, no foul, right?

Apparently Amazon is not joking when it claims to sell everything under the sun. Recent news articles about Amazon's tax-dodging ways, as well as warnings by some investment analysts, make me wonder about Amazon's future.

The reason the toys are kept next to Bibles and devotional books is to make it easier for employees to fulfill the orders of Southern Baptists, evangelicals, and Jimmy Swaggert.

Reading about the Jehovah condoned rape, incest, body functions, and Onan's self-pleasuring reminds those good souls it's time to get that black super-dong for Biblical re-enactments.

Don't forget the "Foot-Washing Fetish Kit", now sold with fishnet robes and stiletto sandals. Gives you something to think about in church Sunday mornings while the preacher talks about Lot and his daughters, magic virgins, and Baalam's talking ass.

Maybe evangelicals and the other members of God's Posse will have their own line of toys — the Hinn-Heiny, Swaggert's Swinging Stick of Righteousness, and the Paul Crouch Glory Hole of Deliverance. Order the Ted Haggard "Anointed with Oil" (now in ten delicious flavors) for a full-body spiritual experience.

Don't forget your love offering requires John the Baptist Sheep Intestines (lubed with lanolin) to protect the foreskin against infidels and Satan's Chancre.

This opens up another way to bring those tithes in on Sunday after playing "King David and his Concubines" Saturday night.

Way to go Amazon —that's smart business!

HORTON HERRIN, Dalton, Ga., the GOP can't even decide who they want to blame for Benghazi. They're even throwing old boy McCain under the bus on the issue. Ever notice the GOP always treat McCain like the red-headed step child and he keeps running back to them for more of the same?

From Think Progress:

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) accused Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Wednesday of being complicit in the terror attacks on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya last year and the deaths of four Americans, including the late Ambassador Chris Stevens

Right-wing conspiracy theorist Frank Gaffney asked Gohmert on Gaffney’s radio show this week what he thought of McCain’s recent trip to Syria — which Gaffney described as McCain “hobnobbing with Jihadists” — and wondered whether “we’re going to get a proper investigation of the Benghazi-Gate scandal,” a “scandal” Gaffney said he believes “Sen. McCain’s bad advice got us into.” Gohmert agreed that McCain is to blame for Benghazi because McCain supported and advocated for the U.S. led war in Libya that ultimately helped Libyan rebels oust Muammar Qaddafi:

Orr, as usual, quotes the Bible. Here's a video for adults and intelligent kids that quotes the Bible. Of course, most Christians don't know about these verses because most Christians have never read the Bible.

Not safe for Chick-Fil-A, Bryan or Covenant College, 700 Club followers, TBN tithers, or anyone who believes the Bible is about peace and love, and that reason, science and history are tricks by the devil.

It's certainly more entertaining and informative than the drivel Orr puts out. Enjoy and share with your friends, family, and Sunday School class.

"...Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?... answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof...Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death? Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all. Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons? Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?...Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it."<<<

Once again Orr has nothing to offer except regurgitated words from an out-dated, poorly written, uninspiring book of myths and legends. No proof of any god, no evidence of creationism, no logic or reason, just ramblings of his deluded mind.

This is the face and voice of Intelligent Design who would teach such drivel to children.
