Signal Mountain, Tenn., house burns

Firefighters responded to a Signal Mountain residential fire on Tuesday night just before 10 p.m.

The blaze broke out at a single-story, wood-frame home in the 4900 block of Chestnut Avenue, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher said.

Firefighters reported smoke and fire coming from the upstairs part of the home.

As of 10 p.m., no injuries were reported, but emergency medical personnel were on the scene on standby.
