Georgia landed a talented tailback tandem during the winter of 2012 when the Bulldogs signed Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.
The Bulldogs now have two more touted rushers on the way.
Nick Chubb, a 5-foot-11, 218-pound tailback from Cedartown, Ga., committed to the Bulldogs on Tuesday night, passing up scholarship offers from Auburn and South Carolina. Chubb is rated by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 9 tailback and the No. 70 overall prospect.
"I feel very comfortable whenever I go to Georgia," Chubb told reporters after making his announcement. "I love the coaching staff and what they were telling me. They have very good running backs there, and I can learn from them and compete for a spot."
Chubb, who originally set May 28 as his decision date, rushed for 2,696 yards and 38 touchdowns last season. He is scheduled to be joined in Athens by Sony Michel, a 5-11, 205-pound tailback who committed to the Bulldogs on April 26.
Michel is Rivals.com's No. 2 tailback and No. 6 prospect.
The two will be freshmen when Gurley and Marshall are juniors. Last season, Gurley and Marshall combined for 2,144 yards and 25 touchdowns on a Georgia team that finished 12-2 and came up 5 yards short of Alabama in the Southeastern Conference championship game.
"I will be a freshman joining a team with some great backs," Chubb said. "I can't sit here and say I expect to start, but I'm going to get ready to compete. I just want to keep getting better and do what I can to help us win and earn a spot."
O'Connor to Penn State
Quarterback Michael O'Connor, who played last season at Baylor School before transferring to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., committed this past weekend to Penn State.
Coming from Canada, O'Connor completed 60 of 110 passes (54.5 percent) for 857 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions for the Red Raiders. The 6-5, 223-pounder completed 8 of 12 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown in Baylor's 28-26 win over McCallie in late September, but the following week he went 2-for-7 for 4 yards and threw two interceptions in a 34-16 loss to Brentwood Academy.
"[Penn State] Coach [Bill] O'Brien continues to recruit a standout collection of athletes," O'Connor said through an IMG release, "and I am both honored and eager to become an immediate contributor in 2014."
Rivals.com rates O'Connor as the No. 8 pro-style quarterback and the No. 188 overall prospect.
