A new upscale casual dining restaurant will open next year in the former Petco location at Hamilton Corner.
Firebirds, a steakhouse that serves a variety of wood-fired specialty entrees including chicken and fish, will open the new restaurant in East Brainerd in early 2014. The new location is one of eight new Firebirds planned next year. The company currently operates 24 restaurants.
The 6,800 square feet Hamilton Corner location will begin construction in August and plans to open in the spring of 2014.
“Firebirds is complementary to other Hamilton Place establishments such as P.F. Chang’s, Abuelos and Bonefish Grill,” Hamilton Place General Manager Dan Wolfe said in a statement today. “It fits great with the restaurant selection we already have, plus Firebirds has a terrific lunch menu as well.”
