Chattanooga Lookouts win 3-1 over Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts ended the first half of the Southern League baseball season with a 3-1 win Monday over the Huntsville Stars.

Ross Stripling, Jharel Cotton, Michael Thomas and Yimi Garcia combined to allow one run on three hits as Chattanooga closed out a 35-35 half.

The Lookouts broke a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning on a throwing error by Huntsville shortstop Hector Gomez and an RBI infield hit by Brian Cavazos-Galvez. Joc Pederson led off the fourth inning to right-center with a home run to pull the Lookouts into the tie.

The Lookouts will open the second half of their Southern League schedule against Tennessee at AT&T Field on Wednesday night at 7:15. Zach Lee (5-4, 2.65) is scheduled to start on the mound for Chattanooga, with Alberto Cabrerra (5-3, 3.94) scheduled for the Smokies.
