IRONDALE, Ala. - Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was found dangling from a utility pole in Irondale.
Officials tell AL.com neighbors noticed the unidentified worker, who was suspended about 25 feet above the ground in a safety harness, was unconscious Thursday afternoon.
Detective Michael Mangina said the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Alabama Power officials cut electricity to the pole while authorities worked to remove the man's body.
Authorities are unsure of the cause of the man's death.
