The unemployment rate for May in Tennessee was 8.3 percent, a gain of three tenths of a percent from the April revised rate of 8 percent.
Tennessee Labor a Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips made the announcement.
The Tennessee rate was higher than the national rate of 7.6 percent.
