Hamilton and southwestern Bradley counties are under a flood advisory until 11:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service reports that as of 9:30 p.m., around 2 inches of rain has fallen north of Collegedale from scattered showers and thunderstorms. The advisory area could see another inch or two of rain before the storms end later tonight.
Low-lying and flood-prone areas as well as small creeks and streams could flood, the weather service bulletin said..
If water covers the roadway, do not attempt to drive across it. The water may be too deep to allow you to cross safely.
