JACKSON, Tenn. - Authorities say three adults from Texas were arrested when four children were found in the back of a moving truck during a traffic stop in West Tennessee.

Tennessee's Department of Safety and Homeland Security said Trooper Baron Cooper stopped a U-Haul truck on Interstate 40 in Madison County on Wednesday.

Cooper reported that the adults in the truck cab said they were traveling from Texas to Ohio. During a search, Cooper found four children ages 4, 5, 9, and 13 lying on foam bedding in the cargo area.

Authorities charged Joseph Howarth Jr. and Tressa J. Morris, both of Euless, Texas, with child endangerment. Also charged was Jose Cecena Manuel, who was wanted for a probation violation in Texas.

The Department of Children's Services took custody of the children.
