Chattanooga State romps twice

Chattanooga State kicked off its delayed two-day TCCAA softball doubleheader series at Cleveland State by winning 11-0 in five innings and 8-0 in six innings Thursday, as Haley Fagan and Shelby Willard each allowed two hits and struck out eight batters.

Courtney Clark, Baylee Williams, Lacye Walker and Emily Dagnan each was 2-for-3 in the first game for the Lady Tigers -- Clark with a triple and four RBIs, Williams with two RBIs and Walker with one. Marina Wilkerson was 3-for-4 with a home run in game two, when Beth Breeden was 2-for-3 with a home run, Walker had a two-run homer and Shelby Robertson and Khadija Neely each had two hits.

• At Warner Park, Tennessee Temple won 8-0 in five innings and lost 6-4 to visiting Sewanee, which was beginning its season.

Carley Daniel pitched a five-hitter in the first game and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in game two for Temple (2-2). Haley Huskey was 2-for-3 and Raven Pope tripled, each with three RBIs, in Temple's win, and Heather Smith was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Pope also was 2-for-4 in the loss.

Sarah Fleming was 2-for-3 in the loss for Sewanee, and Sarah Anne Hamilton was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Cooper Killen was 2-for-4 in the Tigers' win.
