Pregnant Tennessee woman delivers twins on way to hospital after being stopped for speeding

A Williamson County mom had a solid excuse for speeding when she was pulled over on Interstate 65 Thursday morning: her daughter was in labor.

A sheriff's deputy stopped the soon-to-be grandmother near Moores Lane at 1:30 a.m. and quickly called an ambulance to race her pregnant passenger to the hospital, spokeswoman Sharon Puckett said.

The woman delivered twins in the ambulance en route to Williamson Medical Center, Puckett said.
