A video uploaded by a Hays State Prison inmate is circulating on YouTube, capturing a fight with multiple inmates inside the prison.
The video called “Turn up at hays state prison,” was uploaded Feb. 24, and shows multiple inmates punching, attacking and shoving each other inside a room and continuing the fight into a hallway.
A guard, who has asked not to be named in fear of retaliation, said tactical squads are currently doing a shakedown in the annex building of the prison searching for the smart phone that was used to upload the video.
He said they haven’t found the phone, yet. In January, tactical squads removed 137 cellphones from the prison.
Correction officials said they are investigating how the video got posted. As of last week, officials said the maximum-security prison in Trion, Ga., was still on lockdown do to the rash of recent violence.
