Mild, wet winter passes in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The meteorological winter was much warmer and a bit wetter than usual in Nashville.

Forecaster Bobby Boyd at the National Weather Service office noted December through February averaged 4 degrees above the 30-year norm of 39.9 degrees.

Precipitation was 2.5 inches above normal for the period. It totaled 14.43 inches and just 0.4 inches of snow fell.

The coldest reading was 17 degrees, recorded Feb. 1.
