Omega headlines Sacred Sounds concert at Depot

The Share America Foundation will host Southern gospel trio Omega in concert Friday, March 8, at the Ringgold Depot, corner of Depot Street and U.S. 41, in Ringgold, Ga. Also performing will be Jim Ricketts and Crystle Elam. Randall Franks will emcee the show.

Omega, based in Dahlonega, Ga., is a contemporary Southern gospel music trio featuring Dustin Simmons, Doug Pittman and Cody McCreary. They were named 2012's Daybreak Artist of the Year in 2012 by the Southeastern Southern Gospel Music Conference.

Ricketts and Elam won the North America Country Music Association International's Traditional Gospel Duet of the Year award in 2012, and Elam won the Horizon Award for traditional female vocalist. They also won Traditional Gospel Duet of the Year from the Tennessee Country Gospel Music Association in 2011.

The monthly Sacred Sounds concert is a fundraiser for the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship Fund, administered by the nonprofit Share America Foundation.

Admission is a $5 donation (free for children 5 and younger). Tickets may be obtained in advance at SonShine Christian Books, 1841 Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe (706-861-7675).
