Dalton police seeking man in sexual assault case

Dalton, Ga., police are asking for help locating a man who forced his way into an elderly woman’s apartment Thursday and sexually assaulted her.

The incident on Vann Circle occurred at about 10:30 a.m., police said in a news release.

The attacker was described as white man about 30 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and slender. He was wearing a ball cap with an emblem on the front, what appeared to be a leather-type jacket and jeans, police were told.

Police said the man was seen driving away headed east in an older white Jeep Cherokee.

The woman was not injured but was taken to Hamilton Medical Center for evaluation, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Greg Bates at 706-278-9085, ext. 137.
