KNOXVILLE — A manager with a security subcontractor at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant in Oak Ridge faces an April 9 court d ate after being arrested in a prostitution sting in Knoxville.
Police say 60-year-old Michael Terrance Hartmann of Knoxville responded to a posting for escorts on the website Backpage.com and went to a hotel to purchase “sexual favors” on Feb. 26.
Hartmann is field operations manager for K-9 SOS, a company that provides search-and-detection dog teams at Y-12 and other government facilities in Oak Ridge.
Because of his work at Y-12 and other sensitive government installations, Hartmann apparently has a security clearance. But Oak Ridge officials refused to discuss the case.
Hartmann told the Knoxville News Sentinel he couldn’t talk about the case or his situation at K-9 SOS.
