The Forester Sisters are going to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The Forester Sisters will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in September, according to Kim Forester.

Forester announced on her Facebook page Saturday morning about the news and said in a telephone interview that she didn't know many of the details yet.

"My brother-in-law actually called last night," she said. "My sister June teaches in Macon at the [Georgia Academy for the Blind] and they had heard somehow."

She said all four of the country music singing sisters were thrilled and honored at the news.

The siblings - June, Kathy, Kim and Christy signed with Warner Bros. Records in 1983 and were the first act in Billboard charts history to see the first 15 singles they released reached the Top 10 on the Hot Country charts. They had No. 1 hits with "I Fell in Love Again Last Night," "Just in Case," "Mama's Never Seen Those Eyes" and "Too Much Is Not Enough."

The four grew up in New Salem on Lookout Mountain and after 12 years touring on the road, they walked away from their musical careers to devote time to other careers and family. Kim and Christy are in the interior design business, while June and Kathy teach.

"I don't have kids, but they other three do," Kim said. "When we started on the road, there was one child, When we went off the road, there were seven. They [the kids] were fine with it. It was all they'd ever known, but we said, 'Hey, ya'll need to do this. They need Scouts and everything else kids should do.'"

The induction ceremony will be held in the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
