Hospital officials did not provide any comment on the circumstances surrounding Dale Hetzler’s departure.

Hetzler’s annual salary was $306,015. Erlanger officials did not comment on whether Hetzler received any kind of severance package.

Erlanger spokeswoman Pat Charles said new CEO Kevin Spiegel will determine Hetzler’s replacement after the he formally starts work at the hospital on April 1.

There are seven positions in Erlanger’s legal department. Two individuals have left in the past year to “pursue career advancement opportunities,” Charles said.

The legal staff will continue to handle legal services, including contracts, for the Erlanger Health System.
