Girl Scout Troop 40029 received a big surprise last week when an unidentified man bought all the cookies at the troop's booth outside an East Ridge Bi-Lo grocery store.
The man bought all 70 cookie boxes as what he called "a random act of kindness," according to a news release.
"When I heard he wanted to buy all my cookies, my mouth dropped open," said Girl Scout Catherine Upchurch. "I was shocked, surprised, and very happy."
The man asked the girls to give every customer to the store a free box.
Some customers insisted on giving donations to the troop, according to the release.
The cookie program runs through March 24.
