Bats invade building at Alabama arts center

NORTHPORT, Ala. — Bats have invaded part of an Alabama arts center, forcing employees to move into a nearby building.

The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/13UK8Cr) that the shop and main office functions of the Kentuck Art Center in Northport will move into a nearby building as its central building on Main Avenue gets cleaned up by exterminators.

A photo in the Tuscaloosa paper shows employees wearing masks over their mouths and noses on Wednesday.

Art center officials say the gallery shop will likely be temporarily closed to make the transition, all other operations are expected to remain intact.

Kentuck Executive Director Shweta Gamble said the hope is that the inconvenience will be temporary.
