Courts News: 3 sentenced in fatal beating

3 sentenced in fatal beating

Three men who pleaded guilty to killing Red Bank resident Jordan Collins in September 2011 will be spending decades in prison.

Nineteen-year-old Zachary Hughes, the victim's former roommate, received a 40-year sentence Monday.

Markel Mitchell, 16, received 20 years, and Jeremy Reinig, 27, received 10 years, according to court records.

Collins, 27, was bludgeoned to death with a crowbar in a home owned by his parents, prosecutors said. His credit card, laptop and wallet were stolen.

His attackers used his card to buy cigarettes, a video game and clothes, which led to their arrest.

Dickson was charged with three counts of rape of a child and seven counts of statutory rape by an authority figure. The acts were alleged to have been committed in Hamilton County between 2007 and 2012.

Dickson was taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
