DeKalb County, Ala., officials arrest two on multiple drug charges

The DeKalb (Ala.) County Sheriff’s Office has announced it has arrested two people on multiple drug charges.

A news release said drug task force agents and deputies moved in on a residence near Rainsville, Ala., looking for suspects with felony drug warrants.

DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said officers entered the home and found Sheldon Robert Williams, 36, of Fort Payne, Ala., and Leah Heather Harper, 37, of Mentone, Ala.

A release said agents discovered a meth lab in the living area.

Williams was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing of controlled substance first, unlawful possession of controlled substance, felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to comply for possession of controlled substance.

Harper was charged with unlawful manufacturing of controlled substance first, unlawful possession of controlled substance and felony unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams and Harper were taken to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they are now being held.
