Chattanooga area high school standouts for March 22

• Jack Bosworth, Chattanooga Christian: He doubled twice and had two RBIs as the Chargers defeated Lookout Valley 11-1 in a five-inning baseball game.

• Jared Goswick, North Murray: He pitched a five-hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double in the Mountaineers' 5-1 victory over Ringgold.

• Chris Miller, Bradley Central: He was the winning pitcher when the Bears beat Polk County 5-2 in the Ooltewah Invitational. He gave up five hits and the runs were unearned.

• Kyle Carden, Meigs County: He pitched a complete-game three-hitter and had two hits in a 5-2 win over McMinn County.

• Ben Dean, Bledsoe County: He was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in addition to pitching a one-hitter in a 9-2 win over Sale Creek.

• Davis Culpepper, Baylor: He had a homer and drove in two runs in the Red Raiders' 8-7 loss against Brentwood Academy.

• Colton Rogers, Silverdale Baptist Academy: He pitched a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in a 3-0 win at Marion County.

• Hagan Wilkey, Red Bank: He had two hits, including his fifth home run, and drove in the winning run in the seventh inning as the Lions downed Lawrence County in the Ooltewah Invitational.

• Nick Chambers, Notre Dame: He stole four bases to help the Irish top Whitwell 4-1.

• Jerrod Porter, Heritage: He had three hits and drove in four runs as the Generals downed LaFayette to improve to 3-0 in Region 7B-AAAA.

• Logan Melton, Walker Valley: He was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in a 9-7 win at Central.

• Brady Petty, South Pittsburg: He drew a bases-loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the ninth that forced in the winning run in a 6-5 victory over Fayetteville. He also was the winning pitcher, throwing the top of the ninth and striking out two.

• Jack Jones, McCallie: He placed 11th among 31 competitors in the 800 run in the FSU relays at Tallahassee, Fla. He ran a personal-best 1:59.89.

• Danielle Simms/Jennie McBrayer, GPS: They won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and helped the Bruisers edge Alpharetta 3-2 in the Atlanta Rotary tennis tournament.

• Katie Foster, Arts & Sciences: She won at No. 4 to give the Lady Patriots their first singles win, then teamed with Snaeahah Mahesh to win No. 2 doubles in a 5-4 win over East Hamilton.

• Chandler Custer, Arts & Sciences: He earned an 8-5 decision at No. 1 singles and teamed with Visal Swakeava to win No. 1 doubles as the Patriots downed East Hamilton 6-3 in boys' tennis.

• Aaron Speicher, McCallie: He came back from a 6-2 loss in the first set and won 6-4 and 13-11 in the tiebreaker, but McCallie, which had lost 9-0 to Hinsdale Central in its first match in the Decoturf National Championships at Louisville, Ky., lost 6-3 to Winter Park in its second match.

• Andy Besh, Heritage: He won 8-1 at No. 1 singles and the Generals beat Ridgeland 5-0 in a Georgia Region 7-AAAA match.

• Madi Stanley, GPS: She pitched a perfect game with 14 strikeouts and added two hits and an RBI in a 7-0 softball win at Pope John Paul II.

• Allison Walker, Tori Akers, Red Bank: Walker was the winning pitcher in Red Bank's 4-0 five-inning victory over East Ridge in Cleveland's Lady Raider Classic and went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored in a 7-1 four-inning win over Cleveland. Akers was the winning pitcher in the second game and was 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, an RBI and two runs.

• Chad Toliver, Ben Renaud, McCallie: They each had two goals in the Blue Tornado's 9-8 lacrosse win over St. Anne's Belfield at Charlottesville, Va.
