Contractor: Vision Hospitality Group Inc.
Cost for project: $14 million.
Scope: This 134-room, six-story Hampton Inn & Suites will include about 2,000 square feet of meeting space, a large fitness center, indoor pool and business center. The hotel is situated on a hill right next to Interstate 75 near Hamilton Place mall.
Timeline: Construction work on the inside of the building should start in the next three weeks, and the hotel will open around September.
Future: This new hotel is part of a long-term plan to capitalize on Chattanooga's growth and development, said Mitch Patel, Vision Hospitality Group president and CEO. "Our plan is to develop premium brands in growing locations and growing markets," he said. "That's our strategy. That particular project fits that plan. It's a fantastic brand, and we're developing it although there is a lot of competition." He added that while Chattanooga's hotel market could become saturated during the short term, he expects the project to be successful in the long term.
