Plans were being made by the House and Senate to convene a joint assembly of the GOP-led General Assembly to hear the governor's decision.

For months, Haslam has been struggling with whether to extend TennCare to an estimated 181,000 low-income people. Earlier this week, Haslam said he would make a decision this week.

If Haslam says yes to the expansion, he faces opposition among any number of fellow Republicans in the Legislature.
