Two charged with making meth in car with kids

HARRIMAN - Two people charged with having a one-pot methamphetamine lab in the same vehicle with two children, ages 5 and 3, remained in the Roane County Jail on Monday, charged with aggravated child abuse and making meth.

Yolanda Nicole Lavignette's two children were taken to Roane Medical Center for decontamination, and her car was quarantined, Harriman Police Chief Randy Heidle said. The children were later placed in the custody of the Department of Children's Services, he said.

Along with the 28-year-old Rockwood woman, the passenger in her car, Kevin Anthony Ray, 26, of Harriman was charged.
