Hockey fans to raise money for injured toddler in Georgia

DULUTH, Ga. - A pro hockey team in suburban Atlanta plans to host "Tripp Halstead Night" at its final regular season home game.

The event is aimed at raising money for a fund that helps the family of the injured toddler. The Gwinnett Gladiators say they've set up a special advance-purchase ticket online for Saturday's game, with proceeds going to the boy and his family.

WXIA-TV reports that for each of the tickets sold, the Duluth-based team will give $5 to Team Boom, the fund set up to help the family.

The boy was on the playground of his day care center in Winder when a large tree branch fell and struck him on Oct. 29, 2012.
