Blessing of the Bikes at Riverpark

Choo Choo Wheels of Worship, the Chattanooga chapter of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, will hold its annual Bike Blessing this weekend at the Tennessee Riverpark, 4301 Amnicola Highway.

According to spokesman Shannen Pope, the event is held each year on the Saturday before Easter.

"We pray over them and their bike to have a safe riding season," Pope says. "We do this for each rider."

The gathering will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 30, and will last until arrivals wane, usually late afternoon. Pope says bikers come from near and far for the event each year.

"Anyone who rides a motorcycle of any kind is welcome," she says. "Come on your bicycle even."

Food and other refreshments will be offered free of charge.

Signs will be posted at the park entrance to guide riders to the site. For more information, call 423-362-3559.
