Responding officers located the property managers holding the suspect, Thomas Richard Sheppard, a 45-year-old white male, at gunpoint. A witness had telephoned the property managers, Donna and Raymond Belvin, after observing the suspect breaking into the residence through a rear window.

The Belvin’s arrived and located Sheppard in the residence and phoned police. On arrival, police took Sheppard into custody without incident. Sheppard has been charged with aggravated burglary.

During the investigation, it was determined that Sheppard at one time lived at the residence before being evicted. The residence was vacant at the time of the burglary.

Sheppard’s initial court date is Tuesday at 5 p.m.
