What: The Performing Arts League held a catered luncheon and fashion show at Heritage Landing Clubhouse recently, with fashions by Orange Blossom Boutique of Cleveland, Tenn. The league is a nonprofit founded one year ago that incorporated last month. Its mission is to promote youth involvement in the performing arts.
Benefits: Funds from the luncheon will help fund scholarships for area music students and support needs of the Howard High School Marching Band.
What: The annual Spirit of Achievement Awards were held at the Chattanooga Convention Center honoring companies and volunteers for their support of Junior Achievement of Chattanooga.
Benefits: The luncheon raised $80,000 for JA's financial education programs in Hamilton, Catoosa, Marion and Walker County schools.

Max Finley Volunteer of the Year: Cherie Davis, an employee of Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, who volunteers for JA special events as well as in classroom instruction.
Spirit of Achievement Awards: Economy Honda and Lawson Electric Co.
