Chattanooga firefighters battle a vacant house fire at 6218 Vance Road.

Chattanooga firefighters early this afternoon battled a fire at a vacant house in a wooded area at 6218 Vance Road.

The 911 communications center received numerous calls about the fire that was seen for miles, according to a news release.

The house was engulfed in flames when the firefighters first arrived, it was stated.

There were no injuries and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
