The East Ridge Lady Pioneer softball team recently dedicated a home softball game to promote breast cancer education and awareness.

The girls raised the money through the sales of "pink out" softball shirts. They were a big hit with the students at East Ridge High School. Money also was raised at the softball game.

They were able to honor and celebrate the heroic fights against cancer by family and friends at the game. The softball team raised $942, which was donated to the MaryEllen Locher Foundation.

The girls take pride in doing this fundraiser every season, and the event seems to be gaining importance in our school and community every year.
