Lauren Alaina's new single, "Barefoot and Buckwild," cracked the Top 40 on iTunes' country singles chart before noon Tuesday, its first day of release.
The single by the Rossville native was No. 56 in the top 100 digital downloads by 8:30 a.m., before climbing to No. 37 by 11:30 a.m.
At 5 p.m., "Barefoot and Buckwild" was No. 26, surpassing Kenny Chesney's new single, "Pirate Flag," at No. 27. "Barefoot and Buckwild" was also outpacing "Hush Hush" (No. 34) the new single from Miranda Lambert's side project, Pistol Annies, which on Tuesday released a new CD, "Annie Up."
