East Ridge Fire and Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left two victims trapped, according to a news release.

The crash happened on Interstate 75. The vehicle was heading eastbound on Ringgold Road when it veered off the roadway and collided with an earthen berm, landing on I-75 southbound.

Fire personnel had to stabilize the vehicle in order to get the male driver and female passenger out of the wreck.

As the investigation is ongoing, traffic on I-75 and Ringgold Road will be slow and officials urge drivers to avoid the area.
