Woman shot on East 24th

An early morning shooting Sunday left one woman with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, according to a news release.

Chattanooga police were called to the 2600 block of East 24th Street about 12:44 a.m. Sunday.

The victim, 21-year old Trashaunda Green, was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told detectives that Green had just dropped off a friend when someone shot her and fled. The investigation is ongoing.


2 injured in I-24 motorcycle crashes

Two men driving motorcycles on Interstate 24 near the Ridge cut early Sunday were injured when they crashed their bikes, Chattanooga police said.

Witnesses told police the men were traveling at high speed when they lost control and crashed.

Both were taken to the hospital, where they were listed in stable condition Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing, and charges may be filed, police said.


Crash blocks Scenic Highway

An accident on Scenic Highway on Lookout Mountain blocked part of the road between Linear Lane and Military Road after a red pickup truck ran off the road.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. near 1001 S. Scenic Highway.

Jimmy Hillis, floor supervisor for Hamilton County 911, said the Chattanooga Fire Department and EMS were on the scene.

Hillis said injuries had been reported with entrapment. Extrication units were used to free the victim.

No information on the condition or identity of the victim was available Sunday night.
