Dinner/dance benefits Wounded Warriors Project

Jazz, rock ' n' roll on tap in Manchester, Tenn., Saturday

Three musical acts have been booked for American Bands 2013, a dinner/dance in Manchester, Tenn., on Saturday, May 18, that will raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Anderson Ensemble & Dr. Jerry Anderson will play jazz during the dinner, which starts at 6. Jackwagon will provide rock 'n' roll for dancing starting at 9 p.m. Special guest will be teenage crooner Mason Taylor.

The event begins with a happy-hour reception at 5 p.m. (all times are Central) at the Manchester/Coffee County Convention Center. The venue is just off I-24 at Exit 114, next to the Holiday Inn. Special rates are available for hotel accommodations with the mention of American Bands/Wounded Warrior Project.

Dinner selections are priced at $35 for roast chicken or a vegetable plate, $40 for prime rib. Tickets are $20 for the dance only. Those unable to attend may make a donation to the nonprofit organization, which provides services and support for severely injured service members in the time between active duty and their return to civilian life.

All proceeds from the evening will go to the Wounded Warrior Project in association with Let Freedom Ring of Franklin County, Tenn.
