Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department hosts Riverpark fun today

The Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the third annual "Get Out and Go Night" from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Tennessee Riverpark.

Local sports and leisure clubs will perform demonstrations and provide information about their activities.

Door prize donations from area merchants will be given out during the event.

Representatives from the Chattanooga Bocce Club, Chattanooga Ski Club, River City Kite Club, the Barnard Astronomical Society, Department of Derailments Roller Derby Team, Chattanooga Hiking Meet-up Group and cyclists from Cohutta Adventures, Suck Creek and UTC cycling teams will take part.

Today is also National Park Trust's "Kids to Parks Day."

The event may be canceled because of inclement weather.
