Paws at Poblano's helps Wally's Friends

Pet advocacy agency Wally's Friends is introducing a new fundraiser today, May 23. Paws at Poblano's, scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m., will offer an after-work outing with music, food and beverages — think: happy hour — at Poblano's Mexican Cuisine, 551 River St.

For $20, participants can enjoy the signature house margarita, chips and salsa and three beef or bean tacos. Entertainment will be provided by Bluesfrog & The Georgia Rhythm Crickets.

Proceeds will help Wally's Friends continue its work of preventing pet overpopulation. To date, the agency has spayed or neutered more than 67,000 animals. The current project is a capital campaign that will fund a move into a larger clinic.

All tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, call 423-877-9966 or visit
