Carmen Small wins women's time trials national cycling championship

Carmen Small won a national championship on Saturday by the smallest of margins, edging Kristin McGrath by a single second to win the USA Cycling Professional Women's Time Trial competition Saturday at the Chattanooga Volkswagen Plant.

Small, who rides for the Specialized-luluemon team finished with a time of 42 minutes and 37 seconds, knocking Exergy TWENTY16 rider McGrath to second place just moments after McGrath had posted the best time over the 19-mile course.

Alison Powers finished third, 12 seconds off Small's winning time.
