The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department put out a kitchen fire at 6818 Knoll Crest Drive on Wednesday night.
A family, whose identity has not been released, returned home around 7:20 p.m. and saw smoke billowing out the front, according to a release. Someone from the family called 911 and firefighters extinguished the fire in the kitchen.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is as of now unknown, Lt. Casey Jones said, but it started in the kitchen.
The amount of damage caused has not been confirmed, but the family was insured, according to the release, and they will stay with other family members.
