KNOXVILLE - A Pilot Flying J spokesman said Wednesday that the company was disappointed, but not surprised, in the wake of plea agreements entered by two of its employees.

"The statements released by the federal court today do not come as a surprise given what we've been learning in our own internal investigations, but are nonetheless disappointing," Pilot spokesman Tom Ingram said in a prepared statement. "We want to assure our customers that we are taking every step to correct any wrongdoing that has occurred and to make certain that it does not happen again."

Arnold "Arnie" Ralenkotter, Northeast regional sales director for Pilot Flying J, entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud in U.S. District Court in Knoxville.
